We are proud to celebrate the successful completion of our Computer Class, a program designed to strengthen digital skills and provide practical technology tools for our community.

Conoce a Ricardo Ardila

Para muchas familias hispanas en Delaware, comprar casa propia no es solo una inversión es un logro que representa años de trabajo, sacrificio y disciplina. Es el fruto de turnos largos, ahorro constante y sueños compartidos en familia. Entender ese proceso humano es lo que ha convertido a Ricardo Ardila en un asesor de bienes raíces con propósito.

Graduado en Administración de Empresas con especialización en Finanzas de Goldey-Beacom College, Ricardo llegó al sector inmobiliario después de más de veinte años trabajando en servicio al cliente. Allí aprendió algo que hoy guía su manera de trabajar: antes que números, hay personas; antes que contratos, hay historias.

Su entrada al mundo de bienes raíces no nació solo de una oportunidad profesional, sino de una convicción personal: muchas familias latinas sí pueden comprar vivienda pero necesitan información clara, acompañamiento y alguien que les hable en su idioma y sin complicaciones.

Porque comprar casa puede dar miedo cuando no se entiende el proceso. Créditos, requisitos, tasas, inspecciones, cierres demasiados términos que pueden confundir a quien apenas comienza. Por eso Ricardo trabaja con paciencia, explicando paso a paso, respondiendo preguntas sin prisa y adaptándose a la realidad de cada familia.

Durante años, la comunidad latina sintió que las puertas del financiamiento estaban medio cerradas. Hoy el panorama ha cambiado. Existen más programas, más apoyo institucional y más opciones reales para primeros compradores pero todavía hace falta orientación confiable para aprovecharlas.

Quienes han trabajado con Ricardo suelen repetir algo sencillo pero poderoso: “nos sentimos acompañados”. No presionados acompañados. Esa diferencia define su estilo.

Como parte de ese compromiso con la comunidad, el jueves 5 de marzo Ricardo realizará una sesión informativa gratuita para primeros compradores de vivienda , pensada especialmente para familias hispanas que quieren entender si ya están listos para dar el paso.

La jornada se llevará a cabo de 6:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m. en el 1801 Lancaster Ave, Wilmington, Delaware, en la sede de la Cámara de Comercio Hispana de Delaware , junto a especialistas de Del-One Credit Union , quienes explicarán en lenguaje claro las opciones de financiamiento, requisitos, programas disponibles y rutas reales para lograr la primera vivienda.

Será un espacio para preguntar sin pena, aprender sin presión y salir con más claridad que dudas.

The Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Charity Crossing organized a community event on October 25, 2025 in Wilmington. Thanks to the dedication of our volunteers and the support of our community partners, the organization was able to distribute more than 100 gifts to families and children in our area. The event brought together parents, youth, and local leaders, creating a warm and joyful environment where families felt welcomed and supported.

The Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is proud to give back to the community and to all the members who continue to support our mission. Gran Éxito en la Conferencia de Certificación de Manipulador de Alimentos Realizada en Wilmington, Delaware

Wilmington, DE | 26 de julio de 2025 – La comunidad hispana de Delaware vivió una jornada de formación y empoderamiento el pasado sábado 26 de julio durante la Gran Conferencia de Certificación de Manipulador de Alimentos, organizada por DMV Professional Services en colaboración con la Cámara Hispana de Comercio de Delaware.

El evento tuvo lugar en las instalaciones ubicadas en 1801 Lancaster Avenue, donde decenas de participantes asistieron desde tempranas horas para capacitarse y obtener una certificación reconocida que les permitirá abrir nuevas puertas laborales en el sector de servicios y gastronomía.

Con un horario intensivo de 8:00 a.m. a 6:00 p.m., la conferencia se desarrolló completamente en español, asegurando el acceso y comprensión total para los asistentes. Los participantes recibieron instrucción especializada sobre normas de higiene, seguridad alimentaria y procedimientos clave para el manejo adecuado de alimentos, al final del cual obtuvieron un certificado válido y reconocido a nivel estatal y nacional.

Wilmington, DE | July 26, 2025 – On Saturday, July 26, the Delaware Hispanic community gathered for a full day of training and empowerment during the Food Handler Certification Conference, organized by DMV Professional Services in partnership with the Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

The event took place at 1801 Lancaster Avenue, where dozens of participants arrived early to receive training and earn a recognized certification that will open new job opportunities in the food service and hospitality industries.

Running from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., the conference was held entirely in Spanish to ensure full accessibility and understanding for all attendees. Participants received expert instruction on hygiene standards, food safety practices, and key procedures for safe food handling. At the end of the training, attendees earned a valid and recognized certification that meets both state and national standards.

One of the main goals of the event was to equip attendees with practical and legal tools to strengthen their chances of success in the food industry—a common first step toward economic stability for many immigrant families.

The Chamber Celebrates its Newest Graduates

24 Graduates, From Two Courses, for Improved Business Skills

On April 7, the Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce proudly celebrated the achievements of 28 graduates who completed courses in entrepreneurship and digital literacy. The ceremony, held at the Chamber’s event center on 1801 Lancaster Avenue in Wilmington, recognized participants from the second-level cohort of the six-week Emprendedores Sin Barreras (Entrepreneurs Without Barriers) program (17 graduates) and the 12-week Tecno-Ready: Clases de Computación y Habilidades de Oficina para Emprendedores (Computer and Office Skills Classes for Entrepreneurs) program celebrated 14 graduates. Four people graduated both. The programs were delivered in Spanish and available to members of the Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Among the graduates, Ronny Jimenez of Ronny’s Restoration shared how the Emprendedores Sin Barreras program helped him identify a clear business focus. “I learned what was holding me back from scaling my business—I wanted to be everything to everyone. Now, I specialize in repairs caused by environmental hazards and understanding the insurance process for homeowners, this is where my expertise truly lies,” he said.

Yleana Gonzalez highlighted her transformation through both programs, which opened a new career path within her husband, Albeto Yoker’s business, Yoker Custom LLC. “I learned to think like an entrepreneur and gained computer efficiency to support the business. From zero to the icloud! I’m still learning the technology, especially the embroidery machines,” she noted.

Thank you to the sponsors of these offerings, Silvana Consulting Services, the Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Delaware SSBCI, and the Delaware Small Business Development Center. The Chamber extends heartfelt congratulations to all graduates for their dedication and growth.

“Cámara Hispana de Delaware Celebra a 28 Nuevos Graduados en Emprendimiento y Tecnología”

El 7 de abril, la Cámara Hispana de Comercio de Delaware celebró con orgullo los logros de 28 graduados que completaron cursos en emprendimiento y alfabetización digital. La ceremonia, realizada en el centro de eventos de la Cámara en el 1801 de Lancaster Avenue en Wilmington, reconoció a los participantes del segundo nivel del programa de seis semanas Emprendedores Sin Barreras (17 graduados), así como a los del programa de 12 semanas Tecno-Ready: Clases de Computación y Habilidades de Oficina para Emprendedores , que celebró a 14 graduados. Cuatro personas se graduaron de ambos programas.

Los programas se ofrecieron en español y estuvieron disponibles para los miembros de la Cámara Hispana de Comercio de Delaware.

Entre los graduados, Ronny Jiménez, de Ronny’s Restoration, compartió cómo el programa Emprendedores Sin Barreras le ayudó a definir un enfoque claro para su negocio. “Aprendí qué me estaba frenando para hacer crecer mi negocio: quería ser todo para todos. Ahora me especializo en reparaciones por daños ambientales y en comprender el proceso de seguros para propietarios de vivienda; ahí es donde realmente está mi experiencia”, comentó.

Yleana González destacó su transformación tras participar en ambos programas, lo que le abrió una nueva oportunidad profesional dentro del negocio de su esposo, Alberto Yoker, Yoker Custom LLC . “Aprendí a pensar como emprendedora y gané habilidades en computación para apoyar el negocio. ¡De cero a la nube! Sigo aprendiendo sobre la tecnología, especialmente sobre las máquinas de bordado”, señaló.

Fue un día lleno de vida, donde la comunidad latina compartió con orgullo sus raíces a través de bailes folclóricos, música en vivo, exquisita comida típica y una maravillosa muestra de arte y cultura.

Desde la Cámara de Comercio Hispana, tuvimos la oportunidad de participar en este evento tan especial. The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce joined the Cinco de Mayo celebration in Kennett Square yesterday.

On May 4th, the streets of Casa Guanajuato Kennett Square came alive with joy, music, and tradition during the beautiful Cinco de Mayo celebration organized by the artistic and cultural group Casa Guanajuato. It was a vibrant day where the Latino community proudly shared its roots through folkloric dances, live music, delicious traditional food, and a wonderful showcase of art and culture.

At the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, we had the opportunity to participate in this very special event. With our information table, we accompanied Chamber members and spoke with many attendees about the resources and services we offer to support small businesses, entrepreneurs, and workers in the region.

Beyond providing information, our participation allowed us to connect from the heart with the community and reaffirm our commitment to continue promoting economic growth and the well-being of our people.

We firmly believe that spaces like these are essential: they allow us to celebrate our roots, strengthen bonds, and build opportunities together.

Empowering Hispanic Business Leaders

The Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce are Affiliates representing the state of Delaware and we have been participating with the US Hispanic chamber of commerce since 2024. President and CEO Ronaldo Tello said " this year our coordinator Karen Lucas and I had a chance to create paths of communication and collaboration with Hispanic Chambers of Commerce in different regions of the US. We are strong together!"

The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) annual Legislative Summit held at The Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C. from March 24-26, 2025. This flagship event brought together Hispanic business owners, chamber leaders, policymakers, and corporate executives to discuss “The 2025 Business Policy Agenda: Charting the Course.”

Attendees engaged in dynamic sessions focused on key economic issues, including tariffs and trade, immigration policy, workforce dynamics, tax reform, and regulatory relief. The summit also examined the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and explored opportunities to strengthen U.S. trade.

A highlight of the summit was the keynote address by Dr. Adriana Kugler, Member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the first Latina confirmed as a Federal Reserve governor. Dr. Kugler shared insights on entrepreneurship, its geographic distribution, and its importance for aggregate productivity, with a special emphasis on Hispanic entrepreneurship and a brief outlook for the U.S. economy.

The summit also featured interactive workshops, procurement roundtables, and networking opportunities, fostering connections between small businesses and key decision-makers from federal agencies and Fortune 500 companies. The event culminated with a Hill Day Luncheon at the Russell Senate Office Building, where members of Congress discussed legislative priorities impacting Hispanic-owned businesses.

The USHCC Legislative Summit 2025 successfully empowered Hispanic business leaders to navigate the evolving political and economic landscape, fostering bipartisan connections and promoting economic growth.

Durante un encuentro gestionado por la Cámara Hispana de Comercio, presenciamos las palabras del nuevo gobernador de Delaware, Matt Meyer, quien compartió su visión sobre el papel fundamental de la comunidad latina en el desarrollo del estado.

Meyer, con una trayectoria marcada por su trabajo como educador y su experiencia en Guatemala, expresó una profunda admiración por la ética de trabajo de los latinos y su valiosa contribución en sectores clave como la construcción, la agricultura, el comercio y los servicios.

During a gathering organized by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, we heard from Delaware’s new governor, Matt Meyer, who shared his vision on the vital role of the Latino community in the state’s development.

Meyer, whose background includes work as an educator and experience in Guatemala, expressed deep admiration for the Latino community’s work ethic and valuable contributions to key sectors such as construction, agriculture, commerce, and services.

In his remarks, he emphasized that the history of Latinos in Delaware is inseparable from the American Dream and stressed that he cannot envision a prosperous future for the state without the active participation of this community. He also addressed key issues such as access to basic services, workforce development, child care, affordable housing, and the impact of rising energy rates.

With a warm and committed tone, the governor reaffirmed his intention to work hand in hand with community organizations and Latino entrepreneurs, promoting policies that ensure equal opportunities and growth for all state residents.

Este evento emblemático reunió a empresarios hispanos, líderes de cámaras de comercio, legisladores y ejecutivos corporativos para debatir sobre “La Agenda de Política Empresarial 2025: Trazando el Rumbo”. Durante tres días, se abordaron temas clave como comercio, migración, reforma fiscal y el T-MEC, además de ofrecer espacios de networking, talleres y mesas redondas con agencias federales y grandes corporaciones.

Una doble graduación con impacto comunitario/ A Dual Graduation with Community Impact

El pasado 7 de abril, la Cámara Hispana de Comercio de Delaware celebró una jornada memorable marcada por el esfuerzo, la superación y la esperanza. Treinta y dos adultos latinos culminaron dos programas clave: Emprendedores Sin Barreras 2 y el Curso de Computación Básica para Adultos , reafirmando el poder del aprendizaje como motor de transformación personal y colectiva.

Diecisiete emprendedores recibieron su diploma tras completar una formación intensiva orientada a estructurar y fortalecer sus negocios. A la par, quince estudiantes conquistaron el mundo digital dominando habilidades esenciales frente al computador, muchas veces por primera vez en sus vidas.

La ceremonia, emotiva y vibrante, fue testigo de abrazos sinceros, aplausos prolongados y miradas llenas de orgullo. Más allá de los certificados, lo que se celebró fue la valentía de aprender, de comenzar de nuevo y de apostar por un futuro con más herramientas.

Desde la Cámara, reconocemos en cada graduado una historia de avance que contribuye a fortalecer el tejido emprendedor y profesional de nuestra comunidad. Porque el aprendizaje no tiene edad, y el futuro —para muchos— comenzó ese día.

On April 7, the Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce celebrated a powerful and unforgettable day marked by perseverance, growth, and hope. Thirty-two Latino adults successfully completed two transformative programs: Emprendedores Sin Barreras 2 and the Basic Computer Skills Course for Adults , reaffirming education as a true engine for personal and collective advancement.

Seventeen entrepreneurs earned their diplomas after completing an intensive training program designed to help structure and strengthen their businesses. At the same time, fifteen students stepped confidently into the digital world, mastering essential computer skills — in many cases, for the very first time.

The graduation ceremony was filled with heartfelt moments: warm embraces, resounding applause, and proud, emotional smiles. More than diplomas, what was truly celebrated was the courage to learn, to start over, and to invest in a future built on knowledge and opportunity.

At the Chamber, we see in each graduate a story of resilience and growth — a story that strengthens the entrepreneurial and professional fabric of our community. Because learning has no age limit, and for many, the future began that day.

Impulsando la participación hispana en grandes proyectos de construcción

El pasado miércoles 19 de marzo, la Cámara de Comercio Hispana de Delaware tuvo el privilegio de participar en el evento Minority Supplier Diversity, una iniciativa organizada por Drexel University y desarrollada en el hotel Christiana Hilton, en Newark, Delaware. Esta jornada, orientada a promover la inclusión de negocios diversos en el sector de la construcción, ofreció información clave sobre oportunidades valoradas en más de $3.5 mil millones proyectadas para los próximos once años.

Nuestro equipo asistió al evento en representación de la Cámara, reafirmando nuestro compromiso con abrir puertas reales de crecimiento para los empresarios hispanos del estado. En esta ocasión, tuvimos además la satisfacción de acompañar a dos de nuestros miembros: ROONY RESTORATION y PAPRO CONSTRUCTION, dueños de pequeñas empresas que representan el talento, el esfuerzo y el potencial de nuestra comunidad.

Durante el encuentro, los asistentes tuvieron la oportunidad de conocer de primera mano los planes de desarrollo de Drexel University, así como los procesos y requisitos necesarios para participar como proveedores en sus futuros proyectos de infraestructura. Fue también una excelente plataforma de conexión con líderes de la industria, representantes de contratistas generales y responsables de compras institucionales.

Agradecemos sinceramente a la Delaware Black Chamber of Commerce por su invitación y por extender esta valiosa oportunidad a nuestras empresas. Colaboraciones como esta reflejan el poder de las alianzas entre comunidades diversas cuando se trabaja con un objetivo común: el crecimiento inclusivo.

On Wednesday, March 19, the Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce had the privilege of attending the Minority Supplier Diversity event, an initiative organized by Drexel University and held at the Christiana Hilton in Newark, Delaware. This event, focused on promoting the inclusion of diverse businesses in the construction sector, offered valuable insights into more than $3.5 billion in projected opportunities over the next eleven years.

Our team attended on behalf of the Chamber, reaffirming our commitment to opening real pathways for growth among Hispanic entrepreneurs across the state. On this occasion, we were also proud to accompany two of our member businesses: [Business Name 1] and [Business Name 2] , small business owners who exemplify the talent, resilience, and potential of our community.

Throughout the event, participants had the opportunity to learn firsthand about Drexel University’s upcoming development plans, as well as the processes and requirements needed to participate as vendors in their future infrastructure projects. Community Forum with Immigration and Financial Experts / FORO COMUNITARIO DE EXPERTOS EN INMIGRACION Y FINANZAS

This past February 21st , we held a community forum that was a resounding success , becoming a key space for guiding and empowering our community . It was a day full of valuable information, support, and unity, where distinguished leaders shared vital resources to help families navigate legal, financial, and community challenges .

We deeply thank everyone who attended, trusted us, and took action to protect their future and that of their loved ones.

The event featured the distinguished presence of Carlos Obrador Garrido Cuesta , Consul General of Mexico in Philadelphia, who emphasized the importance of institutional collaboration to protect immigrant rights and provide direct consular support.

We were also honored by the presence of Father Carlos Ochoa , Pastor of St. John Holy Angels Church and Director of the Hispanic Ministry of the Diocese of Wilmington, who offered words of encouragement and highlighted the importance of spiritual support during uncertain times . He reminded everyone of the value of following laws and regulations to show that the Hispanic community is a positive example in this country.

Dr. Dorrell Green , Superintendent of the Red Clay Consolidated School District, reaffirmed the district’s commitment to inclusion and support for immigrant families , assuring parents that their children can attend school without fear , regardless of immigration status.

Colonel Jamie Leonard , Chief of Police for New Castle County, expressed the willingness of local authorities to build trust and work hand-in-hand with the Hispanic community. He stressed that law enforcement is here to protect and serve all residents.

On the legal side, Attorney Lindsey Sweet , immigration specialist and partner at Sweet & Paciorek, offered clear and detailed guidance on immigration processes and legal protection. Brian Legum , personal injury attorney and partner at Kimmel and Carter, provided important information about legal rights in the case of an accident and the importance of proper legal representation.

In the financial sector, Adrian Romero , Assistant Vice President of Del-One Federal Credit Union, shared helpful information on how to protect your assets and finances in emergency situations, especially those related to immigration matters.

From the media side, José Ignacio Castañeda Pérez , community reporter for Spotlight Delaware, stressed the importance of accurate, timely information and warned against the dangers of misinformation on social media. He encouraged everyone to be responsible with what they read and share, reminding us that truth is a personal commitment.

Attendees had access to free services , such as deportation order checks, legal consultations, and financial advice. A dedicated Q&A session allowed the community to ask direct questions and receive personalized guidance from the panel of experts.

The Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce reaffirms its commitment to continue creating spaces that provide information and support to strengthen and protect our community .

Ctrl+Alt+Success: Transforming Lives Through Our Computer Course

Preparing to face the challenges of everyday life in both personal and business contexts.

Since August 7th, some of our Hispanic Chamber members have been immersed in an exciting digital learning journey through our computer course provided in Spanish. With each passing Wednesday, we explore new skills and technological tools that prepare us to face the challenges of everyday life in both personal and business contexts.

Graduation is quickly approaching, scheduled for October 23rd at our Bilingual Business Center on 1801 Lancaster Ave. Wilmington, DE 19805. Participants have shown remarkable progress, not only in developing their digital competencies but also in their confidence in using computers and applying these skills to their businesses.

Our goal is clear: to equip each entrepreneur with the necessary skills to thrive in the digital age. With the support of the instructor and a collaborative learning environment, we are creating a space where everyone feels inspired to grow and learn.

Technology is the future, and we are thrilled to be increasingly prepared! We eagerly anticipate the graduation ceremony, where we will celebrate our students' achievements and their commitment to learning.

Desde el 7 de agosto, nuestros estudiantes han estado inmersos en un emocionante viaje de aprendizaje digital a través de nuestro curso de computación. Cada miércoles que pasa, exploramos nuevas habilidades y herramientas tecnológicas que nos preparan para enfrentar los desafíos del día a día en su vida personal y sus negocios.

8 Latino Businesses Honored as Rising Stars at Delaware Hispanic Chamber's Heritage Month Celebration

They were awarded during the Hispanic Heritage Business Connect held on September 22.

The Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce extends its heartfelt gratitude to all who participated in the recent Hispanic Heritage Business Connect event held on September 22nd.

Attendees transformed the evening into a special moment, filled with authentic connections, laughter, and recognition of the rich Hispanic culture. Together, they reaffirmed the power of shared stories and the impact they can achieve as a community.

One of the most significant moments of the night was the recognition of eight exceptional businesses that have demonstrated their commitment and passion for growing and developing their enterprises. Karen Lucas, the membership coordinator at the Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, has dedicated her career to empowering Hispanic entrepreneurs. With a background in commercial management, sales training, and technology, Karen's journey began in 2012. Originally from Colombia, she has led teams and developed strategies that have driven innovation in the tech sector. Because of her tremendous work at the Hispanic chamber, Karen recently received the Impact Award during the 3rd Annual Leadership Dinner organized by the Mill Summit.

Karen holds a degree in Graphic Communication and Market Research and has brought her expertise to Delaware, where she supports first-generation Americans in launching and growing businesses. As someone with experience as a business owner, she understands the unique challenges faced by the community she serves.

Karen is known for her commitment to the growth and development of Delaware's Hispanic community. Through her role, she fosters collaboration among local entrepreneurs, helping them expand their networks, establish strategic partnerships, increase visibility, and navigate legal requirements.

Karen emphasizes the importance of trust in business, a lesson she learned early on from her mother, who started a new business in Delaware just two years after moving from Colombia. She is motivated by the challenges Hispanic business owners face, including language barriers, cultural adjustments, and financial hurdles.

Looking ahead, Karen sees technological trends and the growing need for connectivity as key factors shaping the future of her work. She is dedicated to helping Hispanic entrepreneurs embrace these trends to create growth opportunities. In addition to her role as a membership coordinator, Karen also teaches the program Tecno-Ready, designed to equip entrepreneurs with essential computer and office skills to enhance their business operations and foster growth.

Del-One Federal Credit Union Establishes, Juntos Avanzamos

Equitable lending programs support diverse communities

This article is adapted from a previous article published in Del Hispano Magazine’s April issue. It is based on information from a February interview with Del-One officials and has been approved by Del-One for this publication.

Del-One Federal Credit Union is a founding member of the Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, where it now extends its expertise to all chamber members. A recent new focus on the Hispanic Community has led to new innovative programs from Del-One that enable an equitable approach to lending, including small loans, mortgages, and, more recently, small business loans.

The Hispanic Chamber interviewed three officers who serve the Hispanic community at Del-One. They shared some background and the importance of this new inclusion of client services.

Del-One is a Juntos Avanzamos (Together We Advance) designated Credit Union.

Del-One Federal Credit Union has been proudly helping members reach their goals since 1960. As a member-focused and community-driven organization, we strive to provide inclusivity, accessibility, and equality in financial programs for our communities. This includes the Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) program, which allows non-citizens with an ITIN rather than a social security number to apply for loans and other financial services and enables filing U.S. tax-related paperwork.

Due to this program and additional support Del-One has provided to the community, the credit union was also designated as Delaware’s first Juntos Avanzamos (Together We Advance) credit union, which is chosen for their commitment to serving and empowering the members of the Hispanic community, regardless of immigration status. Del-One FCU has worked hard to deepen this relationship by employing bilingual, culturally competent staff and leadership and partnering with local Latino organizations throughout Delaware.

At the Juntos Avanzamos Proclamation Ceremony on March 28 ^th , 2024, New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer declared the day as “Del-One Federal Credit Union Day” in New Castle County. President & CEO Dan McCarthy stated both the Juntos Avanzamos dedication, and the Del-One Federal Credit Union Day proclamation honors were “testaments to both the hard work of our teammates and the real, tangible impact we are making in the Hispanic community. We are beyond proud of this recognition; believe me, we are just getting started!”

How did the idea become a program?

Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce had a chance to talk with three of the Del-One officers who personally contributed to creating the new approaches to lending. The three interviewed are John Chartrand, Chief Banking Officer; Yarmila Rivera Ortiz, Director of Mortgage Lending; and Adrian Romero, Assistant Director of Retail Operations.

John Chartrand has served as the Chief Banking Officer at Del-One for over three years. His community and strategic approach demonstrate his extensive background in business development. He works from the Corporate Office of Del-One in Dover, Delaware.

Adrian Romero is the Assistant Director of Retail Operations. Adrian has worked at Del-One for over seven years. Adrian long recognized a problem in lending from his own viewpoint, he explains.

"As a first-generation Mexican American, I've experienced the pressing need for financial inclusivity within my community. I've witnessed how easily the Hispanic community can fall victim to exploitation, often due to their immigration status or limited access to information. Since joining Del-One in 2017, I consistently advocated extending more services to undocumented members. However, it wasn't until April 2022 that the problem sparked an idea that led to a solution."

According to John, Adrian might have gotten the initial motivation around the program started. Here is the experience he shared.

Adrian Romero spearheaded this campaign from the beginning. He saw the need for financial services and earned trust within the Hispanic community. He and I visited La Central in Wilmington, whose mission is to help businesses connect with the Latino community. We discussed loan programs we could offer, and [we both] realized the general lack of support and a great need.

After their Wilmington visit, they both went a step further by attending a conference with an inclusive company that focused on financial inclusion and empowerment. There, they learned about Juntos Avanzamos and the ITIN program. From that conference, both equally recognized the transformative impact that could be achieved by broadening outreach to ensure that underserved communities could enjoy equitable access to financial services. From that moment on, the trajectory was set, and the rest became history.

What does it mean to be a Juntos Avanzamos credit union?

Del-One Federal Credit Union became Delaware's only Juntos Avanzamos credit union in December of 2023. What does this designation mean? This designation underscores a pledge to serve the Hispanic community and highlights the profound notion that when we act united, we progress together.

For Adrian, it is a mark of distinction that we [Del-One] proudly wear. "It signifies our unwavering dedication to People Helping People, demonstrating that we [Del-One] didn't wait for other financial institutions to take the lead.”

Yarmila Rivera Ortiz serves as Del-One’s Director of Mortgage Lending. Yarmila was excited about the designation, “Filling those gaps and closing the barriers for serving low-income Hispanic communities and providing safe and affordable financial services and opportunities to immigrant consumers and allow these individuals to fulfill their dreams of home ownership.”

John expressed how Del-One’s new designation comes with additional resources to market our services, "letting previously lesser-served communities know Del-One is both an ally and friend, here to help and by meeting people where they are".

The Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN) lending program.

ITIN loans allow non-citizens without a Social Security number to apply for a loan in the United States. Del-One began its program in April 2023 with auto loans and then launched its mortgage program in June 2023. Del-One has issued 31 consumer loans totaling close to $800,000 and nine mortgage loans totaling approximately $2.2MM. (as of March 2024).

More recently, Del-One enhanced the ITIN program for small business opportunities.

The mortgage team has hosted mortgage seminars about the ITIN lending program since late summer of 2023, with turnouts of over 100 people. Yarmila sees and hears directly from attendees that earning mutual trust is important. Adrian emphasized the importance of the program he had envisioned since 2017.

"It's crucial to underscore the historical significance of making these services accessible to our members in Delaware. Non-resident and immigrant individuals can now purchase a home, finance a vehicle, or initiate credit building with the same terms and fees as those with a social security number. Previously, these same actions often meant facing steep obstacles, including a 20-30% down payment and exorbitant interest rates based on immigration status. Del-One is removing barriers, and offering equal access to all."

What other ways is Del-One supporting its own program?

In addition to being a founding member of the Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Del-One has been involved with events with the Latin American Community Center for their Fiesta Latina and Grand Ball. The credit union advertises on Telemundo and partnered with The Voice Radio to advertise on Maxima 104.1FM and Maxima 95.3FM.

Del-One’s marketing collateral and disclosures were translated into Spanish, and the website has a Spanish option. Branches and departments are staffed with bilingual teammates, giving members access to Spanish-speaking individuals within the branches and Del-One’s contact center.

A Del-One mortgage office was recently opened on Kirkwood Highway in Wilmington, and Del-One has a strong relationship with La Esperanza in Georgetown. Del-One also attends Festival Hispano in September, a celebration of Hispanic culture with close to 20,000 attendees.

Internally, Del-One established a committee called "The Tiger Team," comprising all bilingual teammates and individuals involved in driving this program's success. Within this team, new developments are shared, and challenges are identified.

"Emprendedores Sin Barreras" Keeps Growing!

The Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (DeHCC) is excited to announce the addition of an unplanned summer cohort for the Spanish entrepreneurship course, Emprendedores Sin Barreras (Entrepreneurs Without Barriers). The overwhelming success of the program and the high demand from the community have led us to expand our offerings.

"We had a waiting list surpassing 30, and we felt we needed to respond to the need of Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs and would-be entrepreneurs so they have the knowledge they need to start businesses and grow," said Dr. Ronaldo Tello, President & CEO of DeHCC.

Emprendedores Sin Barreras is a six-week program delivered entirely in Spanish, designed to help Hispanic entrepreneurs and business owners develop their business strengths and leverage them to achieve their goals. Past participants have successfully implemented strategic plans to grow their businesses, regardless of the stage they are in.

Throughout the course, participants will craft a customized plan in three stages of development: 90 days, 180 days, and two years. Even after the program concludes, we provide continuous support through individual one-on-one appointments with a business advisor. This ensures the viability of their plans and helps them navigate any necessary paperwork.

The program is specifically developed and facilitated for members of the Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and is looking for companies and organizations who would like to sponsor it. Highlighting Members Making an Impact in the Hispanic Chamber

Our member community has quickly grown. Among our new members are idea generators, innovators, and change agents; these businesses demonstrate that we can build a community where success is measured not just in numbers but in the positive impact we create.

This month, we’d like to highlight three members of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce who have made a positive impact not only on themselves but also on those around them. The three of them have volunteered to support our Hispanic Chamber’s events and programs. Their spirit of service and generosity motivates us all to keep moving forward and to work together for a stronger future.

Each encourages us to be our best… and they make us look our best, too! I am referring to our image since they are all in the business of keeping us looking great.

Brianda L Espino is proudly Mexican and comes from the town of Agua Buena, in the Municipality of Tamasopo, in the beautiful San Luis Potosí. For the past eight years, she has lived in northern Delaware.

Brianda explains, "I am a professional makeup artist and hairstylist for all occasions. My experience goes back 12 years. My career started at the Academy in the city of Rioverde at the age of 22, and since then, I have loved seeing the transformation I make in people and how I help them feel more confident and beautiful on their most important days. I only work by appointment and accommodate by delivering my services in the clients' homes."

CNL: Once a Month, We Combine Relaxation and Learning

Each Month a Different Learning Experience is Offered

Our Cocktails, Networking, and Learning (CNL) nights have quickly become a cornerstone of the Hispanic Chamber's offerings, providing a perfect blend of education and relaxation. These events are designed to equip our members with valuable knowledge while fostering a strong sense of community and support among Hispanic entrepreneurs.

On our first CNL night, held on May 23, the room buzzed with anticipation as members gathered to hear a two-part presentation from True Access Capital. The first part of the presentation focused on demystifying the process of obtaining capital and business loans, addressing specific questions brought up by our members. The second part highlighted multiple programs designed to connect entrepreneurs with market growth opportunities. The insightful presentations provided practical knowledge that attendees could immediately apply to their businesses, making the night both informative and empowering. We also had members sharing their talents. Angel Borges provided a demonstration of his Bailotherapia (Dance-Therapy) and made us all dance and enjoy!

Our second CNL night, which took place on June 27, attracted an even larger number of Hispanic entrepreneurs eager to expand their knowledge and networks. This time, we welcomed representatives from Del-One Federal Credit Union, who delivered a compelling presentation on their new program "Juntos Avanzamos," and other products for small business owners. Attendees learned about the various ways they could create businesses, access loans, and purchase property. The presentation was both inspiring and practical, giving our members the tools and confidence to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams. Thanks to Tacos Romero, one of our members who donated delicious tacos to the delight of all attendees.

Each CNL event offers more than just presentations. Attendees have the chance to network, make business connections, enjoy cocktails, and meet the Hispanic Chamber staff. The atmosphere is always lively, with music adding to the ambiance and helping everyone unwind from their busy mid-week schedules.

Looking ahead, we are excited to continue our monthly CNL nights. These events are scheduled for the third Thursday of every month, with future dates including:

María del Carmen Hernández González embodies the resilient spirit, transforming each experience into an opportunity to grow and shine. From her humble beginnings in a laundry at an event club to becoming an expert in event decoration and planning, her journey is an odyssey of passion, learning, and love for her craft.

During her days at the event club, María del Carmen discovered her passion for decoration and event planning. Although she started in the laundry area and later worked as a waitress, her curiosity and enthusiasm led her to immerse herself in the world of design and event organization. With each task, she absorbed knowledge and skills, preparing the ground for her future transformation.

Fate led her to work with a direct sales brand of kitchen utensils, where María del Carmen honed her sales skills for over 15 years. However, her thirst for knowledge and her desire to follow her true passions drove her to go further. She decided to train in various areas related to events: from floristry and balloon decoration to the exquisite art of charcuterie and drink preparation.

Starting with her family and friends, María del Carmen demonstrated her capabilities and took the brave step of opening her own business. Seeing her house filled with decorations and work items, she decided to rent a place and begin her entrepreneurial adventure.

María del Carmen recounts that her major challenges in making this decision were organizing her time, managing her functions, and delegating tasks that no longer necessarily had to be done by her. By working on these challenges and having someone under her charge, she continues on the path of evolution to expand her client base further.

A graduate of the "Entrepreneurs Without Borders" course, María del Carmen learned the necessary basics to start her business and understand the entrepreneurial system in this country. Additionally, as a new member of the Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, she relies on this organization to grow and follow her development process.

Beyond her success in starting her own business, María del Carmen Hernández González is an inspiration to those around her. Her humility, generosity, and love for what she does make her a beacon of hope and motivation for all those who aspire to turn their dreams into reality. On May 7, 2024, the Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce was invited to celebrate with new business members, T apatío Produce International Market & Shops, who joined the Hispanic chamber along with an expansion of their business to include a butcher and deli shop. The grand re-opening was held at the original business location in Commercial Plaza in Elkton, MD. The significance reaches beyond the re-opening. It is the realization of a dream initiated by the Hispanic community’s need for fresh and authentic products.

Tapatío Produce International Market & Shops is known for its wide selection of high-quality food products and dry goods. The new butcher and deli shop will be welcomed by the community.

Latino Vendor Expo and Expo Quinceañeras 2024 both took place in April

In a dynamic display of support and engagement, the Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce kicked off its inaugural month with two impactful business expos. These expos showcased the vibrancy and entrepreneurial spirit of the local Hispanic community. These expos celebrated cultural heritage and provided invaluable networking opportunities, collaboration, and business growth.

Latino Vendor Expo

The first expo, the Latino Vendor Expo , was a unique blend of traditional art, jewelry, and Latin-American cuisine brought to life by the collaboration between the chamber and social media influencer Marisol Gutierrez. This vibrant event, held in mid-April, was not just a showcase of products and services but a platform for entrepreneurs to forge connections and generate greater exposure for their businesses.

Businesses specializing in everything from dresses to event planning converged to fulfill the dreams of soon-to-be quinceañeras and their families.

The highlight of the expo was a spectacular fashion event, featuring renowned designer Alonso Maximo's exquisite collection of Miss Universe dresses. Against a backdrop of festive lighting and pulsating music, models showcased the latest trends in quinceañera fashion, adding glamour and excitement to the occasion.

Attendees were treated to various pampering sessions, including makeup, hair styling, and skincare, ensuring they looked and felt their best for their special day. The expos served as a one-stop destination for families to explore, plan, and create unforgettable memories, with support from event planners, photographers, caterers, and other professionals.

Delaware Hispanic Chamber Hosts Financial Workshop For Members

Over 100 potential decision-makers attended an in-depth workshop exploring the many financial and personal considerations of being a business owner. The workshop was organized by the Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Hispanic American Association of Delaware (HAAD), together with Interfaith Community Housing of DE (ICHDE).

Panel discussions covered a wide range of topics related to housing selection, budgeting/expense expectations, and the necessary steps in buying a home were covered by the following panelists: Rosa Rivera: Certified Counselor (HUD), Maria Ramos: ICHDE, Stand by Me Financial Coach, Eva Ramos: (ICHDE) Certified Counselor (HUD), and Angie Mayor Prosperity Home Mortgage.

The workshop was a collaboration of Father Carlos, Dr. Ronaldo Tello, Estefania Cuellar, Raquel Ferrer, Karen Lucas, and several members of the Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce who are Realtors and were ready to focus on specific issues that day.

We thank Holy Angels Hispanic Ministry and HAAD for their continued support. Both organizations extended invitations for English Classes, Computer knowledge Classes, various health-related programs, and a new course offered by DeHCC, Entrepreneurs without Barriers.

As an award, a free membership to the Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce was raffled.

As New Affiliates, DeHCC attends the Nationwide Legislative Summit of the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

The Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (DeHCC) became the newest affiliate of the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and participated in the nationwide 2024 U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Legislative Summit (USHCC) . The event was held from April 22 through April 24, 2024, at the Ronald Regan and International Trade Buildings in Washington, D.C. The gathering connects America’s Hispanic business leaders with government agencies and elected officials in a bipartisan effort to influence our country's legislative priorities.

The Summit brings a new focus for Hispanic chambers of commerce nationwide in recognizing the significant economic contributions of the Hispanic community. The underlying theme of the Summit was how policymakers have a considerable opportunity to prioritize initiatives aimed at equitable entrepreneurship practices, creating a competitive advantage to drive growth and innovation. Emphasis was placed on bridging equitable access, resources, and financial opportunities for Hispanic-owned businesses that have impacted the country’s GDP, with a contribution of $3.2Trillion.

DeHCC attended the Summit, represented by our board chair, Liliana Quintero, and Dr. Ronaldo Tello, President and CEO of DeHCC. They had the opportunity to meet with representatives of other Hispanic chambers, connect with leaders of several private and public non-profit organizations, and talk with government and elected leaders. Long-term benefits for DeHCC and the business members it represents were made through strategic connections, learning from the experiences of others, and establishing contacts for future collaboration.

The Summit ended with a look forward to the new year by presenting the USHCC’s 2024 Policy Platform , outlining key policies. All were encouraged to participate and collaborate on a bipartisan basis.

Early Entrepreneurs Are Barrier-free to Develop Their Ideas Into Reality

Thirty-one early entrepreneurs brought their business ideas to the Emprendedores Sin Barreras (Entrepreneurs Without Barriers) course, a six-week program delivered in Spanish that helps Hispanic early entrepreneurs and new business owners develop strengths and leverage them to achieve their business goals. Graduation took place on May 13, 2024. Now, the participants have an action plan for the strategic growth of their business, regardless of the stage they are in. The plan is customized in three stages of development: 90 days, 180 days, and two years. Entrepreneurs participating in Entrepreneurs Without Barriers will continue to work on goals through individual one-on-one appointments with a business advisor to ensure the viability of their plan and understand any necessary paperwork.

The participants' various business ideas provided a backdrop to discussions and built a support network for everyone. This course was a great way to turn those ideas and talents into new or growing businesses.

Two businesses presented their business plan at the graduation. Gina Ramos and Francisco Turcios presented their business model plan for Panxo Mobile Services, a repair service for vehicles, trailers, and heavy or light-weight trucks needing repair on the road, after regular hours, or at the customer’s location.

The second business was also a husband-and-wife team. Olga Torres and Flavio Lopez presented their plan for All In One Painting Company. As part of their startup business plan, they will service residential homes.

Everyone who participated is now part of the continued support and learning network that membership in the Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce provides. The Hispanic Chamber congratulates the early entrepreneurs for taking this important step in advancing their business ideas.

Entrepreneurs Without Barriers is a course specifically developed and facilitated for members of the Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce with the sponsorship of the Delaware Small Business Development Center (DeSBDC). Future cohorts will begin soon, and a level two course will start later this year to expand on the knowledge learned in this course.

A Family Affair, A New Business Shares Their Story

Could you tell us about the story of Antojitos Sweet Salty and how the idea of starting this business came about?

Of course, we are a family business, and together, my husband and I created the concept during the pandemic. We were at home and returned to cooking various Venezuelan foods and found that revisiting the flavors we missed was a comfort. We have always enjoyed cooking, where we complement each other in the kitchen. Working together led us to think about sharing those sweet and savory flavors from our homeland with Venezuelan and Latino households in Delaware and surrounding states.

We started selling among friends, and little by little, the word spread among our Venezuelan compatriots and then people of other nationalities. We have always focused on maintaining the quality and presentation of our products, so before actually selling them, we conducted several tests to ensure that we reached the final point we wanted. The opinion of our customers is essential to us and has helped us constantly improve.

What is in the future for Antojitos Sweet Salty's, and how do you plan to achieve your goals?

Our vision is to bring our flavors to every family in Delaware and beyond; we want everyone to know about us. As entrepreneurs, we know it's not easy, but we can eventually reach a larger customer base with perseverance, dedication, and love for what we do.

This is what we do to reach our goals:

We use high-quality products purchased from places authorized by regulatory agencies to ensure perfection.
We carefully oversee every step of the production process, always keeping in mind food storage and preservation methods.
They are made from scratch.
Before introducing a new product for sale, it is prepared several times until we achieve the right balance of flavor and consistency. It should be true Venezuelan!
We focus on product presentation, making it visually appealing and an important factor for those customers.
We make sweet and savory products, which makes us similar companies. We play with dessert flavors by uniquely contrasting flavors, making them memorable.
We strive for the best customer service, with the main values of honesty and responsibility. We learn from our customers, and this has helped us grow. We follow the saying that we should treat our customers as we would like to be treated ourselves.

What challenges has Antojitos Sweet Salty faced in starting your own business?

First, getting to know the food business and the necessary regulations required to operate.
Now every day, space limitations require more resources and materials. we have been working on ways to grow within our physical space by purchasing equipment with greater production capacity to offer a larger, more diverse quantity of products.
Language has been a limitation in expanding to non-Hispanic communities, but we continue to work through it.
Achieving a balance between family and business, our toughest challenge as entrepreneurs. Family time may be different now, but it is more important. In addition, we still hold other jobs outside of ANTOJITOS, so it has been difficult to organize our time and meet the demands of both.
One unexpected challenge was using our image to sell products. It was an idea we adopted from other people before us. We have grown as a business and as individuals because of that move.
We had one very challenging time in December of 2022. My husband had to run the business solo because I was on bed rest after an accident. We could not step back at the time so our children stepped in to help as they could. We were able to fulfill all our holiday orders.

How has the Delaware Chamber of Commerce helped your business?

They have guided and accompanied us through the entire registration and regulation process required by the state of Delaware, something I thought was impossible to achieve. It was overwhelming and I needed to figure out where to turn for the correct knowledge. They also have a commercial kitchen with proper licensing. We make our products in their kitchen and as a result can produce a product we need, when we need it.

The Chamber continues to guide us through cost structure and marketing. They have trained and professional people in the business area, which is essential for any business. All Delaware merchants can have a friendly place to go that allows us to maintain a solid community in the small business arena.

For many reasons, I recommend to anyone with a business idea, no matter how small they see it, to go to the Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Small ideas grow big there.

On March 15, the Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (DeHCC) formally opened its doors to the community in an inauguration event.

Almost aligned with the first day of spring, it was as if everything was a new beginning. On March 15, the Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (DeHCC) formally opened its doors to the community in an inauguration event. The inauguration started with a red ribbon-cutting ceremony that spilled into and around the corners of Scott Street and Lancaster Avenue. The Center, located at 1801 Lancaster Avenue, was filled with an audience including the almost 200 new business members who have joined, and government and community officials who shared in the prospect of the Chamber’s mission.

The Delaware Hispanic Chamber is focused on addressing the needs of first-generation American business owners. Many of the initiatives that the DeHCC will undertake in the coming year and beyond are instrumental in involving bilingual families in discussions around economic development. Dr. Ronaldo Tello, the President & CEO of DeHCC, shared, “From the DeHCC perspective, we see this as altering the financial trajectory for many families.”

At the ribbon-cutting, the Board Chair, Liliana Quintero, and Dr. Tello welcomed a diverse community of sponsors, community organizations, and government officials who came to show their support for the new business members of DeHCC. The event was attended by the Lieutenant Governor, Bethany Hall-Long, and New Castle County’s Executive, Matt Meyer, who expressed their unwavering support for the Hispanic Chamber’s endeavors. Wilmington’s Mayor Mike Purzycki also shared his reflections on the Chamber's journey, underscoring the significance of this milestone.

The crowd entered the Lancaster Avenue entrance as if it were the first time inside. People were met by the wait staff from Meseros Fuentes Asociados with champagne already poured for a toast. The interior was fully decorated thanks to LP Events & Design and the materials to do so, from PREMIER . The never-ending food buffet by Antojitos Bite Sweet and Salty, and additional desserts by Gelatina La Jarochitas . Everything was captured in photographs by Altamiranos Photo and Video .

Once everyone was inside, Dr. Tello led the traditional toast of “Pa' arriba, pa' abajo, pa' centro, pa' dentro.” A surprise performance followed by both the children and adult folkloric dancers, sponsored by The Hispanic American Association of Delaware (HAAD) . They ignited the festival atmosphere that was apparent for the rest of the evening.

Three proclamations honoring the initiatives set forth by DeHCC were presented. The first from the Delaware State Senate, sponsored by Senator Lockman of Wilmington, Senator Mantzavinos of Elsmere, Senator Townsend of Newark, and the first Delaware Latino Senator from the Greenville and Centerville area, Senator Laura Sturgeon. A U.S. Congressional congratulations from U.S. Representative Lisa Blunt Rochester and another proclamation from Wilmington City Council was presented by Councilwoman Maria Cabara, Latisha Bracy, and Bregetta Fields, who all emphasized the vital role of DeHCC.

Founding sponsors supported DeHCC with $15,000 each and included Barclays, Walmart, Del-One, and HAAD. DeHCC also received support from the following corporate members: Delaware Small Business Development Center (DeSBDC) , Delaware Hispano Magazine , Financial & Consulting Services, Inc. and WSFS.

The Inauguration was also a chance to announce the lineup of programs and support for chamber business members. Of interest was the Delaware Hispanic Marketplace for business members. The Chamber has made available a digital presence for businesses, allowing up to ten pages that start with a company profile and may include a catalog, menus, coupons, flyers, text messaging, location finder, event calendar, and links to existing social platforms already in existence. This service is free with membership and will help connect area and visiting customers to each business member.

Community Resource Day Success: Collaboration between Walmart, DEHCC, and the Delaware Black Chamber of Commerce

We are thrilled to share the success of the collaborative effort between Walmart, the Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (DEHCC), the Delaware Black Chamber of Commerce, which resulted in the organization of the impactful Community Resource Day held at the Walmart in New Castle. In the accompanying photo, from left to right, you can see Mr. Daniel Harris from Walmart, Dr. Ronaldo Tello from DEHCC, Ayanna Khan, Founder & President/CEO of the Delaware Black Chamber of Commerce (TM), and Coordinator Karen Lucas from DEHCC. Collaboration and Economic Development with the Delaware Hispanic Commission

We’re delighted to share that the Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (DEHCC) actively participated in the Delaware Hispanic Commission Meeting of Statewide & Northern Delaware Associations, organized by its Economic Development Committee. The meeting took place at La Tolteca in Greenville on January 11, 2024. Our President & CEO, Dr. Ronaldo Tello, along with Coordinator Karen Lucas and Board Chair Liliana Quintero, attended this insightful event. It provided a platform to explore collaborative opportunities and discuss how we can collectively support Hispanic entrepreneurs within Delaware’s small business community. The DEHCC team had the privilege to introduce our chamber to esteemed participants and members of the Delaware Hispanic Commission Economic Development Committee, fostering connections and collaborations that align with our commitment to economic growth and development in the region.

Nos complace compartir que la Cámara de Comercio Hispana de Delaware (DEHCC) participó activamente en la Reunión de Asociaciones Estatales y del Norte de Delaware de la Comisión Hispana de Delaware, organizada por su Comité de Desarrollo Económico. DEHCC Explores Collaborative Opportunities at Delaware Chamber Meeting

We’re excited to share that the Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (DEHCC) was recently invited to participate in the meeting of the Association of Chambers of Commerce of Delaware on January 12, 2024, held at the Maple Dale Country Club. This event served as a valuable platform for our representatives, Dr. Ronaldo Tello, President & CEO of the DECC, and Liliana Quintero, Board Chair of the DECC, to engage with other chambers of commerce across Delaware. The meeting facilitated insightful discussions about common goals and provided an excellent opportunity to introduce the Delaware Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to the broader business community. We’re grateful for the warm welcome and look forward to collaborating with our fellow chambers in fostering economic growth and development in the region.
